R. Venters Long Nose Putter
-1st Shinnecock Head Professional 1895-1908
Here we have a truly rare golf club from the beginning of Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, one of the five founding member clubs of the USGA. The club is a R. Venters Long Nose Putter. Venters was the first ever Shinnecock Head Golf Professional and noted early clubmaker in the United States from 1895-1908. The condition of the 35” putter is a bit rough, as the back weight is ill fitted due to some damage to the head and the sole. Nevertheless, it is an amazing piece of equipment that links to the history of early American golf.
