Blue Copeland Spode Pitcher
Beautiful blue Copeland–Spode stoneware pitcher with unusual removable tin lid insert. 5 ½” H. 3 ½” wide at base. Superb color and condition. Ca 1900 – 1930s. Fully marked on the bottom, including a registration number. Per Sprung’s book, Decorative Golf Collectibles, ‘Copeland-Spode’ is the ‘modern’ name of the firm (W. T. Copeland & Sons, Ltd.) which dates to 1770, with the factory in the U.K. at Stoke-on-Trent. These are highly desirable pieces that show nicely.
