Lot of 2 Doulton Series Ware Ashtrays

Very rare pair of Doulton Series Ware ashtrays.  3 ½” across.  Per Sprung’s book, Decorative Golf Collectibles, the Series Ware pieces were based on the style of Charles Crombie (a popular artist at the time who did the Perrier golf illustrations) and were made from 1911- 1932.   Fully marked with registration numbers. Series Ware pieces are very susceptible to crazing – these have some minor crazing.  Some minor wear to the gilt rims, otherwise in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.  This is the only set of these the consignor has ever seen in over 20 years of collecting.  These are a rare find.
