Fitzjohn & Stanton Adjustable Putter

In 1915, Edward Fitzjohn and Elmer Stanton applied for a patent for a nonadjustable putter similar to this model, which they apparently eventually made into an adjustable version. Another known example of this scarce adjustable putter is shown in The Clubmaker's Art by Jeffery B. Ellis (2nd Ed. Vol. II, page 462). The author, famed golf club collector Jeff Ellis, states about this club: "The author knows of six examples."

Offered here is one of those six known Fitzjohn & Stanton adjustable putters. This club measures 34", and is in very good condition. Marked "Ed Fitzjohn" in the head.
