Qualifying Medal (Arnold Palmer)

Presented here is an actual Low Scorer qualifier's medal for the 1954 US Amateur. Quite amazingly, this medal comes from the Pittsburgh qualifier - where a young kid named Arnold Palmer qualified for the US Amateur to be held in Detroit. We have not been able to determine how many golfers could have possibly qualified through Pittsburgh, but how many could it possibly be? 1? 3? Could this medal have possibly been awarded to Arnold Palmer? Or to another kid that defeated the then-unkown 24 year old Palmer?
