Original Bar Sign from The Masters Tournament

What a find! Thanks to the estate of Clifford Roberts' longtime secretary Kathryn Murphy, we are pleased to offer this original bar sign from the Masters Tournament. Patrons of the Masters Tournament surely remember the lone bar that was placed just between the merchandise tent and the first tee at Augusta National at each Masters Tournament. During one such demolition of that bar (and other temporary structures built for the Masters Tournament), Kathryn Murphy was on hand to survey the destruction. This can be seen in the personal photos of Murphy depicted in this lot.

Murphy managed to salvaged one of our favorite signs that we've ever offered - this original bar sign from a Masters Tournament in the 1970s or early 1980s. The sign measures 19 1/4" x 12" and reads "The Bar will Close 45 Minutes After Play Is Over".
