Offered here is a scarce original cabinet card of 1883 Open Champion Willie Fernie. This cabinet card dates to approximately the 1880s, and features a head and shoulders portrait of Fernie. Fernie hailed from St Andrews, and won his Open in a playoff over Bob Ferguson at Musselburgh. The cabinet card measures 6 5/8" x 4 1/4", and contains a 20th century pencil inscription on the reverse that reads "William Fernie Troon Links".
