Circa 1890s Robert B. Nesbitt Watercolor of St Andrews
Robert B. Nesbitt, a noted artist of St Andrews, created a number of fine watercolor images of golf at St Andrews from 1892 through 1915. This original painting depicts golfers amidst the sheep and wind blown grasses heading in along the famous 14th hole of the Old Course at St Andrews. With the city as a backdrop, the image conjures up a sense of the raw conditions known to golfers of the 19th century and earlier. The painting itself measures 10 x 13 1/2", and is framed to 18 1/2" x 21 1/2".
