Vintage Green Jacket

An original circa late 1950s Green Jacket. It's the most recognizable "trophy" in golf. Few Green Jackets have managed to leave the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club, leaving collectors clamoring for the handful of authentic examples in the hobby. We'd love nothing more than for this jacket to be a new discovery, but the chances of us discovering any "new" Green Jackets seem to have dried up years ago. With golf fans across the world obsessed with the idea of owning their own Green Jacket, that puts us in a difficult position, as the jackets are all seemingly tucked away for good in private collections.

But never ones to shy away from a challenge, we contacted the owners of every green jacket known to us. Without further ado, we bring you this circa late 1950s (to early 1960s) Green Jacket. This jacket was produced by Hart, Schaffner & Marx, who produced Green Jackets before Hamilton became the primary clothier for Augusta National in 1967. This Green Jacket also has a tag from the famous (but long-defunct) Cullum's Department Store in Augusta, which matches the Cullum's-Hart, Schaffner & Marx tag on the Green Jacket produced for 1957 Masters Champion Doug Ford in early 1958.
