Exceptional Doulton Lambeth stoneware pitcher. 7 5/8” H. 5” diameter at widest point. Circa 1890 – 1910. Per Sprung’s book, Decorative Golf Collectibles,
‘…Doulton’s stoneware vessels were made at Lambeth … in art nouveau
style relief.’ This pitcher is very unusual in that it has three scenes
– one on each side and one on the front – most only have the two side
scenes. Wonderful art nouveau design and colors. Fully marked on the
bottom. Excellent condition – the brown toning in the golfing scenes is
very common in Lambeth pieces. No chips, cracks or repairs. These are very desirable pieces that
show nicely. Last one we had of this variety sold for $3000!
