For many years, it was widely believed that the first souvenir pin flag that was produced for the U.S. Open at the 1986 U.S. Open at Shinnecock. But recently two souvenir 1st hole flag from the 1985 U.S. Open from Oakland Hills have surfaced. We've sold over 7000+ flags in our history, and have seen this flag exactly 2 times. It may have been sold in the merchandise tent as a souvenir flag, or quite possibly was produced in very limited numbers for U.S. Open or Oakland Hills VIPs. Either way, we do know that it is exceedingly rare and represents an opportunity to obtain one of the only 1985 U.S. Open flag that we've ever seen.
