This a circa 1910s-1930s stunning deep blue Gerz stoneware lidded
humidor in superb condition. Expectionally rare - this is the only
example we've seen and have never seen it represented in books. Per
Sprung's book
Decorative Golf Collectibles, these were made
by Simon Peter Gerz, with the golf scene in relief and were sale glazed.
Fully marked on bottom. 8 Golfers/caddies around
the outside. Per Sprung's book, the factory dates back to 1857 and these
pieces were made in the "early 1900s" (believed to be 1910s to 1930s). 6 1/2" tall to top of lid, and 6" diameter at widest.
