In 1897 George Lowe received the first patent to cover the concept of a matched set of irons. Offered here is an original Mashie that came part of that historic 4-club matching set. Lowe, who apprenticed under Tom Morris in St Andrews and Jack Morris at Royal Liverpool, was the head professional at Royal Lytham & St Anne's from 1888 to 1905. This club is also stamped by Anderson of Anstruther. 37 1/2".
