Jamie Anderson (1842-1905) was one of the great golfers on the 19th century - but also one of the game's most tragic figures. Anderson won the Open Championship in three consecutive years - 1877, 1878, and 1879. He also made clubs under Robert Forgan and Old Tom Morris, and likely apprenticed with Hugh Philp as well. As a result, Jamie Anderson's clubs are fine specimens. Unfortunately, Jamie fell on hard times, and spent the final 15 or so years of his life bouncing around between odd jobs, living in the street, and living at a boarding facility.

Offered here is an original long nose play club by three-time Consecutive Open Champion Jamie Anderson, circa 1875-1880. Slight cracks, the fruitwood head appears to have been refinished.  Replacement grip. Very good opportunity to own a rare club at an affordable price. 44 5/8".
