The McEwan family is golf royalty, and crafted some of the finest golf clubs out of Musselburgh that the world had ever seen in the 19th century. They were not, however, known as ball makers. This is the very first time that we've seen this rare ball - a circa 1890s Douglas McEwan "Royal" Birkdale golf ball (Birkdale didn't technically get its Royal designation until 1951). This ball is unused and is high grade condition, and retains almost all of its original paint.
