Lord Byron describes his worst golfing moment as "three putting the 17th hole at National Open in Cleveland causing me to end up in a tie and losing in a second playoff." Byron Nelson is referring to the 1946 US Open, where he lost in a playoff to Lloyd Mangrum at Canterbury Golf Club.
