Named for George Crump and played on the grounds of legendary Pine Valley Golf Club, which Crump founded, The Crump Cup has been contested every year since its inception in 1922. It is a prestigious invitational golf tournament for amateurs with a four-day format that includes two rounds of stroke play qualifying, followed by four rounds of match play. Like pretty much all Pine Valley memorabilia, trophies and items relating to the tournament are scarce.
Offered here is a sterling silver "Low Gross" Winner's trophy plate. How rare are original Trump Cup trophy plates? We previously sold a much later 1968 trophy plate for $3,804. This 1950 Crump Cup winner’s trophy plate measures 12" in diameter, and is 813.63 grams of sterling silver. The Plate depicts the 1st Green at the world famous course.
**The photos do not do this plate justice, as we have made no attempts to clean up this vintage piece.
