This is an exceptional copy of one of the most controversial golf books of all-time - The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses by Tom Doak.

This infamous book has a cult following among collectors, as Doak holds no punches when critiquing the some of the greatest golf courses in the world. 

In 1989, Doak produced 20 handmade softcover copies. Then, in 1994, he produced 1000 limited edition copies for friends, all of which are hand numbered and signed by Doak. This one is numbered 593/1000. This rare 1994 limited edition actually predates the "1st Edition" of the book, which was produced in much larger quantities in 1996 (but which still fetches hundreds of dollars at auction).
