The Portland Open was a West Coast tournament that was added to the PGA Tour schedule at the height of the Second World War in 1944. It would be played off and on twelve times, and it yielded mostly Hall of Fame Champions, with 8 of the 12 winner’s trophies going to Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, Billy Casper (3x) and Jack Nicklaus (3x). This rare Program is from the very first playing in 1944, won by Sam Snead. The Program includes a very innovative design feature - a handle built into the side for easy transportation on the golf course while watching play.
