Circa 1860 presentation pair of Captain's Wine Tasting Spoons, made by Charles James Allen & Sidney Darwin. Silver plate with gilt spoons, which measure 8 1/8" long. The spoons feature a pair of crossed clubs - one long nose play club and the other an iron with a gutty golf ball. The bowls of the spoons are 2 1/4" wide. Housed in a 10 1/2" x 6" velvet and satin lined box. The box comes from a jeweler in Dundee that we can't quite make out.
