Old Tom Morris was far and away the most famous name in golf in the 19th century. Though a primary source of his income for much of his life was as a ball maker, it is extremely difficult to locate any Tom Morris feather golf ball. This is due to the fact that he was under the employ of Allan Robertson for almost the entire feather ball era. In fact, Tom Morris only started his own shop after he and Allan had a falling out over Morris' use of the new gutta percha ball. The gutty took the golf world by storm in 1848-1850, and made featheries obsolete within a couple years.

Therefore, there was a very short period of time when Tom Morris would've stamped his own feather ball. Likewise, there was only a very short period of time when there would've been any demand for a Tom Morris feather golf ball, except for nostalgia purposes.

The offered Tom Morris feather golf ball is in high grade condition. It is marked in fountain pen 31 pennyweights.
