One of Tiger Woods' first putters on tour was the long neck Scotty Cameron "Scottydale" putter. In fact, many people called for an invalidation of Tiger's 2nd PGA Tour victory at the 1996 Walt Disney Classic because the putter's neck socket was too long and in violation of USGA rules. Tiger survived that controversy and Scotty Cameron delivered Tiger a modified version of that putter for the next week's Tour Championship.  Then, Scotty Cameron and Tiger Woods worked together to modify the club even further for the 1997 season.

This is one of those resulting putters. This Scottydale Limited E.T.W. Special was produced for Tiger Woods himself. Scotty Cameron also produced a limited number of similar putters for his customers, but this one was made for Tiger and is stamped with his name in the cavity. We have no information to suggest that Tiger put this putter into play, so it likely stayed as one of Tiger's backup putters before he switched putters again a few months later to the TeI3 that he would use to win the 1997 Masters Tournament.

The certificate of authenticity from Scotty Cameron states that this putter was "Made for Tiger Woods" and is a "1997 Limited E.T.W. Special in Black Star Finish."
