Offered here is unquestionably the most talked about golf book of the past 30 years. This is the rare 1996 "1st Edition" (in quotes because Doak self-published a couple earlier editions for friends) of Tom Doak's The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses. The now-famous Tom Doak was only a budding course designer at the time, so he had little need to hold back punches in providing his blunt assessment of some of the most famous courses and architects in the world. Little did he know that his stature (and this book's infamy) would continue to ascend.            

This book has certainly reached cult status among golfers and golf collectors alike and is a true must-have for anyone serious about the game of golf. The example presented here has been signed by Doak on a bookplate and inserted on the inside fly leaf. This book is in excellent condition, and comes with its original dust jacket.
