The inaugural Ryder Cup was played in 1927 at Worcester Country Club outside of Boston, Massachusetts. To kick off the 1st ever Ryder Cup, a banquet was held for the players, notable officials, and influential people that helped make the international match idea become a reality.

Offered here is one of the only known original programs from that banquet to help launch the inaugural Ryder Cup Matches in 1927. This program originates from Francis Ouimet's personal collection, which was given by Ouimet to the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund. Francis Ouimet, of course, lived in Boston so it is no surprise that he was invited to attend the festivities for the 1st Ryder Cup.

The condition of this program is almost beyond belief. But for a small stain on the back cover of the program, this 90+ year old program is almost as mint as the day it was printed. This is due to the fact that it has apparently been housed the last several decades in its original envelope that helped protect the program over the years.
