On September 27, 1924, a 22 year old Bobby Jones recorded his second Major Championship victory at the 1924 US Amateur, which was held at Merion Golf Club. This would not be the only time Bobby Jones would conquer the famed Merion course, as he also won the 1930 Amateur at Merion to win the Grand Slam. 

Very few pieces of memorabilia from Bobby Jones 2nd Major victory at the 1924 US Amateur at Merion are known to exist - with this contestant badge being among the finest. In fact, according to the 2004 Gilchrist's Guide to Golf Memorabilia, no badges or tickets from the 1924 US Amateur are known. This contestant badge was listed in that Gilchrist's Guide to Golf Collectibles at $2,000.
