Lot Description  

Stunningly ornate sterling silver trophy from Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest, IL. Onwentsia's course moved to its current location in 1896, and in 1906 it hosted the US Open. This trophy dates to 1911, and was awarded for a June Match Play Handicap tournament. Surely one of the most beautiful early golf trophies that we have ever offered. 

6 1/8" tall, 271 grams sterling silver.
