This is a rare original program from the 1931 US Open at Inverness Club, where Billy Burke defeated George Von Elm. The 1931 US Open was historic, as Burke and Von Elm played a 36 hole playoff to determine the champion. When they were tied even after 36 additional holes, the rules required them to play another 36 holes. At the conclusion of the 72 hole playoff, Billy Burke was the victor. There are many phenomenal stories from this event, but our favorite is the fact that Burke reportedly smoked 32 cigars throughout the tournament!  Very nice condition and one we don't see too often.
