Offered here is Horton Smith's personal Remington typewriter that he used to write The Secret of Holing Putts and The Secret of Perfect Putts in the 1950s and early 1960s. The typewriter was purchased at a shop in Horton Smith's hometown of Springfield, MO. It id a Remington Noiseless Model 7 that was first sold by Remington in 1923. Has a wonderful label on the case from the Bon Air Hotel in Augusta, Georgia with Horton's name on it. The Bon Air Hotel closed in 1960, so we presume the label dates to the 1940s or 50s. This typewriter is being consignment directly by Horton Smith's family - the same family that consigned his record setting green jacket to us in 2013.
