Offered here is a circa 1921 Patent "Leven" practice mashie with measuring system by Hendry & Bishop, Edinburgh & Leith. The Leven patent club has a mechanism that measures how far a golfer's practice swing would have hit a golf ball. According to The Clubmaker's Art, "only 3 such clubs are known to exist." This rare club is in excellent condition with the measuring mechanism appearing to be in good working condition. 

This club originates from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and was featured in his books, The Golf Club (p. 123) and The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 2, p. 498). This club has not reached the collector market since its sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
