Offered here is an early 1900s Slazenger American patent threaded socket and shaft "screw driver." The Slazenger patent covered a threaded socket and screw-in shaft. The hickory shaft is stamped "Slazenger / New York." Overall very good condition.
This club originates from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and this exact club was featured in his books The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 1, p. 152; TCA 2, p. 175). This club has not reached the collector market since its sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
