Offered here is the elusive original program from Bobby Jones' first Major Championship victory at the 1923 US Open at Inwood. For many years collectors doubted the existence of this program, as none had ever surfaced. This changed when we offered one in Spring 2015 auction, which sold for $13,705, an impressive sum for a program in 2015!
Well, offered here for only the 2nd time is another original example of a 1923 US Open program from Bobby Jones' first Major title. The program is in poor condition, and at some point in the past was unprofessionally bound with tape and string. According to the writing on the cover, this example was also owned by host site Inwood Country Club before making its way to a private collection many years ago.
Regardless of its condition, this is the truly scarce chance to own one of the rarest programs from one of the most important tournaments in golf history. A professional restorer could do wonders with this piece. Also included is the original 1923 US Open "Information to Contestants" sheet (last photo), which may be the only surviving example.
