This is an actual pin flag from the 1973 PGA Championship at Canterbury. It has been beautifully signed and inscribed by that year's champion, Jack Nicklaus. 

To flag collectors, the 1973 PGA Championship flag is legendary. For tournament-used golf flags, its design was far ahead of its time in 1973. In the early 1970s tournament-used flags were, at worst, blank and, at best, uninspired. But the 1973 PGA Championship was - and still is - a thing of beauty. Perhaps even more importantly, this beautiful flag comes from a Major Championship won by Jack Nicklaus. Few tournament-used Major Championship flags from Jack Nicklaus' Major victories have ever been offered for sale. (In our Summer 2012 Auction, a 1978 Open Championship Flag sold for $9,156). 

Nicklaus' inscription notes the year, #3 of 5 (noting his 3rd PGA Championship victory), and his final score. This level of detail on an inscription is extremely rare.
