Tiger Woods' career came at a transitional time for the photography industry. When Tiger turned pro in 1996, and for his first 3 or 4 years on Tour, photographs were still primarily taken with film - which can result in Type 1 photographs (printed from the original negative) that collectors covet today. By the year 2000, however, photographs were primarily digital - and digital photographs aren't currently all that collectible or valuable. We believe that once collectors learn more about the rarity of early career Type 1 Tiger Woods photographs their prices will increase significantly.
Offered here is an original Type 1 photograph of Tiger Woods at the 1997 Open Championship at Royal Troon. The '97 Open was Tiger's debut as a professional at The Open and he finished T24. 8" x 10". PSA Type 1.
