Tiger Woods' career came at a transitional time for the photography industry. When Tiger turned pro in 1996, and for his first 3 or 4 years on Tour, photographs were still primarily taken with film - which can result in Type 1 photographs (printed from the original negative) that collectors covet today. By the year 2000, however, photographs were primarily digital - and digital photographs aren't currently all that collectible or valuable. We believe that once collectors learn more about the rarity of early career Type 1 Tiger Woods photographs their prices will increase significantly.
Offered here is an original Type 1 photograph of Tiger Woods while still an amateur at the 1996 Scottish Open. In this photo, Tiger reacts to making a birdie putt on the 13th hole during the 2nd Round of the '96 Scottish Open. Tiger would declare professional a month later with the famous phrase "Hello World." 7" x 9". PSA Type 1.
