Spalding Lard’s patent “Whistler” perforated steel shaft, circa 1916. This is a Spalding "Gold Medal" Mashie with 1914 and 1916 Patent dates and numbers stamped into heal of head. Considered a must-own item necessary for any serious golf club collection due to its unique perforated steel shaft that would famously make a "whistle" sound when the club is swung. The clubface has deep, wide grooves. Very Good condition.
