John Gouick from Dundee, Scotland received a 1904 British patent that covered this club. The thick, rounded sole transitions up across the back of the blade to a thin top line. Gouick wanted the weight low in his center-shafted putter to help facilitate a true pendulum stroke.
The 33 1/2" shaft is original. The grip is not original but appears to be a neatly executed and made from black filament tape. Tape, of all things, was sometimes usedwhen regripping a club. Likely because an actual leather/sheepskin was not readily available to the owner.
