Offered here is a very unusual and rare Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 "Beach" Tour in SSS. Welded neck, a Circle T stamp and sight dot. Features the coveted "tri-sole" of the early Newport 2's.
According to our resident Cameron expert "Vog," this looks as though it was refinished as there is no mushrooming of the stamps on the face. However, the look of the milling at the base of the neck by the weld appears to be original and done before the weld was done. As Vog told us, "when a welded neck putter is refinished and remilled, the mill has to pass underneath the weld. As you can see on this putter, the weld is irregular. The tool can't pass right up to the weld-it has to give it some room or it will cut into the weld. If it cuts into the weld, it won't be irregular on the edges. If the mill passes right below the weld, there will be remnants of the old milling right on the edge of the weld. I don't see any milling on the edge of the weld different than on the rest of the face. It could be the putter head was stamped before the weld and some damage was done to the face so the milling was touched up before the weld. That's my theory!"
Condition: Very Good 9.0/10, possibly refinished, with minor carpet roll marks on sole.
