The Phoenix Open was founded in 1932 and continues to this day (as the Waste Management Phoenix Open). Famously, for one year, its name was temporarily changed to the "Ben Hogan Open." This is an original program from that historic tournament.

On February 2, 1949, Ben Hogan's car suffered a head-on collision with a Greyhound Bus. First feared dead, it was then universally believed that Ben Hogan would never play golf again. But several months later Hogan started hitting balls again, and in the beginning of 1950, Hogan resumed play on the PGA Tour. To show its appreciation for the great champion, the Phoenix Open famously changed its name that year to The Ben Hogan Open. This is an original program from that 1950 Ben Hogan Open. Included inside is the original booklet that includes postcards and scorecards. Excellent condition.
