Offered here is the rare circa 1959 Ping Karsten Redwood City Patent Pending "IA" putter. This is one of the rare "garage putters" that were literally made by future PING founder Karsten Solheim in his garage in the late 50s in Redwood City, California. It is not known how many of these putters Karsten made in his garage, but it is one of the rarest of all the early PINGs and increasingly difficult to locate especially in fine condition. One of the harder to find, and most desirable, of Karsten's legendary Redwood City putters - before he moved his shop to Arizona and founded PING.

There is a thin sightline cut into both the LH and RH blades. According to John Solheim, Karsten would cut in sight lines if requested to do so. However, today, 65 years later, it is not possible to verify if Karsten cut these lines. Suffice it to say, they are discreet and neatly done.

Condition: Very good to excellent, with original green Golf Pride Informer grip with green grip collar. condition. 36".
