Offered here is a 1919 "patented applied for" version of Waverly Horton's Wonder Club. The head consists of an aluminum frame that holds a wood block visable across the face and back of the head. There appears to be a crack in the aluminum neck on this club, as newer whipping extends down to cover most of it. The wood also shows wear. Even so, this is an extremely rare version of this wonderfully creative club. When Horton began to advertise his Wonder Club in 1920, he had changed the shape of the metal framework that holds the wood, which is why most do not look like this one.
The club is marked "Pat Applied For" on crown and has its 42 1/2" original shaft and grip.
