Offered here is one of the only known Type 1 original photographs from the most significant golf tournament in American golf history - Francis Ouimet's victory at the 1913 US Open. 

There are only a handful of known Type 1 photographs from the 1913 US Open, and this image is a new one to us. Quite significantly, unlike surely almost every other known Ouimet 1913 US Open photograph, the press slug on the reverse makes it clear that this photograph was printed during the 1913 US Open. Ouimet was only known in New England golf circles in 1913. The press would have used photos of Ouimet is far greater quantities after his victory, not in the middle of the tournament.
