According to the famous book Decorative Golf Collectibles by Shirley & Jerry Sprung, “Walter Scott Lenox founded the Ceramic Art Company in Trenton, NJ in 1889, but Lenox assumed complete control around 1895. In 1906, the name was changed to Lenox China Company.” The early pieces marked “CAC” for Ceramic Art Company are coveted by collectors. This early piece contains the old CAC mark as well as the new Lenox name.

Offered here is a scarce circa 1895-1906 Porcelain Beer Stein w/ pewter lid. It includes the rare lady golfer image, which was produced in far fewer quantities than the male golfer counterparts. Hand painted and signed by the artist. If you've seen one of these early Lenox steins before, this is the rare tall 7 3/8" tall beer stein. Weighs approximately 2 pounds. Highly impressive piece.
