Offered here is an early Scotty Cameron Titleist Catalina Tour putter in SSS (studio stainless steel).

Vog says: This is an interesting one-you have to know the history of the Classic X and the Catalina to understand. While I'm not a Catalina fan as a player (I need a neck to look at, so I don't do well putting with a putter where the shaft goes into the neck) I am a fan of Scotty's early work and Scotty experimented with this model a lot in the early years-with shaft placement, with head size, etc. I also did a lot of research on the Classic X/Catalina evolution when Scotty re-introduced the new Catalina B3 this past summer.

A SSS Catalina tour is really rare. I've seen maybe a handful at most. Scotty also made 3 Classic X heads in SSS prior to joining Titleist. Is this a pre-Titleist head that perhaps was stamped Titleist after Scotty joined the company? Or a later Titleist version? I'm just not sure. I THINK it's a pre-Titleist SSS head based on how the heel of the putter looks. What AM I sure of? 1. Its rare. 2. The S. Cameron stamping is also hard to find. 3. The putter has lovely, fine, old-school milling indicating this is all original. 4. It was made for former tour player Chris Perry-he was a big Cameron fan and won on tour with a Cameron putter.

Condition is 9 out of 10 with minor signs of tour use, 34.5" with new NOS Scotty Cameron grip along with new Circle T shaft band the studio added when we sent it in for authenticity. Some residual epoxy at the base of the shaft as it enters the head - it's as it left the studio close to 30 years ago.
