In 1952, MacGregor introduced their Winged MT M85 woods complete with five screw white/black/white Eye-O-Matic inserts.  According to the catalog, the M85 set consisted of "The perfect combination of heads, the deep 69 Model driver with the easy playing 40 Model fairway woods. Hand-selected persimmon heads are finished in a rich Mahogany glaze with exclusive Eye-O-Matic face, white with black insert. True Temper C chrome shaft, a firm medium-stiff pattern. New red Tourney grip. Individually recorded. 43 inches in length. Right hand only."

The 1, 3, 4 set offered here has been beautifully refinished and includes the original True Temper shafts, with a 43 1/2" driver and leather wrap grips.  The driver shaft has been reset with epoxy, apparently to repair a hairline neck crack that extends 1/2" below the whipping. The M85 became a staple on the PGA Tour for two decades prior to the advent of metalwoods.
