Offered here is an exceptional Craig Wood autographed 1931 Ryder Cup Expenses receipt from the 1931 Ryder Cup Matches. The 1931 Ryder Cup was only the 3rd ever playing of The Ryder Cup, and it was won by the Walter Hagen-led United States Team by the score of 9-3 at Scioto Country Club in Ohio. This letter on PGA of America letterhead is a receipt for reimbursement of travel expenses for United States Team Member Craig Wood. Craig Wood has boldly signed the bottom of this letter as an acknowledgment to the PGA of receiving his $350 payment for the 1931 Ryder Cup.
This was the 1st time Craig Wood competed in the Ryder Cup. He would eventually win his 1st two Major Championships a decade later in 1941.
Craig Wood's autographs are highly elusive. His autograph is especially sought after by Masters Tournament collectors. Craig Wood passed away back in 1968 - far before there was global demand for autographs of Masters Champions.
Framed to 23" x 17 1/2" overall, and the receipt is 8 1/2" x 7 1/4".
