Offered here is a 1993 pre-Titleist Scotty Cameron Classic X Xperimental Prototype. 1 of 100 made. Rare welded neck.

Vog says: Years ago when I was working on my book on Scotty Cameron, I asked Scotty some questions about the Classic V compared to some of the other classic models. He was unsure of how well the Classic V would sell, and it was cost efficient to have the early heads milled in two pieces (the head and the neck) and weld the neck on these prototypes instead of a true-one piece milling. After over 30+ years of collecting, I've realized these Xperimental Prototype Classic V models are really hard to find-compared to other 1 of 100 models from the pre-Titleist putters.

Collector's bonus: If I had not seen this putter in person, I might wonder if it had been refinished. Most of these pre-Titleist Classic models had very graceful milling, and the milling on the face of this putter looks a little different than most I see. However, look at the cavity-you can see very pronounced milling marks. When a putter is restored, nicks are removed using a fairly buffing/grinding wheel, then the putter head is buffed to an almost-mirror like appearance before the finish is applied. It's very rare for me to find a restored putter that has milling in the cavity that survived this whole process. So, if you're considering a putter like a Newport and you're not sure whether it's been restored, check the cavity.

Appears to have original finish 8.5-9.0/10, 35 inches, with green suede-style milled putters headcover.
