Vog says: After Tiger won in Vegas and Disney for his first two PGA Tour victories with the Japanese market 1996 Scottydale Project X-SLC, Scotty and Titleist wanted to capitalize. XA stood for Xperimental America, although this putter was designed for the Japanese market. TW stood for Tiger Woods. Approximately 48 putters had been completed, primarily for display at the 1997 PGA Show in Orlando. Just one problem; an attendee asked Scotty about the TW initials. Tom Watson? Due to that one person's confusion, no more TW's were made, and the putter became the ETW project for Eldrick Tiger Woods. In comparison, 2000 ETW's were made.
