Offered here is a hard-to-find, Japanese market, 1998 Scotty Cameron Newport "Sterling and Stainless." Marked TJI (Titleist Japan Inc) LTD-limited.
Vog says: Scotty made this model, along with a long slant neck and a mid-slant, in stainless steel with sterling silver insert for the Japanese market. The U.S. Market got the two slant neck models but with a teryllium insert. While the putter is engraved 1998/2500 (one of 2,500) made, years ago Scotty shared with us maybe 500 were made of each model. In 1998 the Japanese economy was in a recession and putters just were not selling there, so Titleist Japan adjusted and requested a smaller number to be produced. In my opinion it's perhaps the most gorgeous limited edition putter done by Scotty and Titleist. Many of these wound up being used. A big chunk of those were refinished or polished to remove wear to the stainless steel. I'm not sure I've seen more than 1 or 2 that were new and with the grip still in the plastic.
Collector's bonus: The successful bidder should immediately and carefully remove this cover and replace it with any other Cameron cover. The metal snap easily scratches the high buff stainless steel.
Length is 34.5", plastic on grip, bomber HC, condition is unused, 9.5 out of 10
