Offered here is one of the most important (and valuable) golf books ever produced. This is the scarce 1890 first edition of Reminiscences of Golf by An Old Hand. Written by H. Thomas Peter in 1890, this book largely comprises of golf memories of the prior 50 years of golf. To many, this is the most important book on 19th century golf history. Beautiful book, with a soft red cloth cover, and gilt lettering "Far and Sure" vignette logo. This rare book is in Excellent condition and comes with a custom museum clam shell case. 55 pages. Pages 6-9 have some important historical information on famous personalities, including a precise description on Hugh Philp clubs, the making of feather balls, and more.
The only example of this fine book to sell in recent years was by PBA Galleries in 2016 for $8,400.
