In 1939, Harold Edgerton of Edgerton, Germeshausen and Grier (or EG&G), which still exists today, worked with Bobby Jones as he swung his driver to hit a golf ball. Edgerton used newly-invented high speed photograph/shutter speed to analyze the great Bobby Jones' golf swing.

The resulting so-called "strobe" photo of Bobby Jones from Edgerton is among golf photography's most iconic images.

Well, offered in this auction is a truly historic find - a page of Harold Edgerton's actual notes from that January 12, 1939 session with Bobby Jones. Edgerton himself signed this document, and also references "Bob Jones" and "R. Jones" multiple times.

Attached to this document is an original Edgerton photograph of a closeup of Bobby Jones connecting with a golf ball with his driver. In many ways, all modern golf instructors and swing coaches can trace their origin to this very session between Jones and Edgerton.

8.5x11 sheet of paper (minor tears and stains) and 3.5" x 4.5 photo" of impact driver and ball, dated 1.12.1939.
